Our Town
Nestled between US 11 and I-81 in the southern part of Guilford Township is the little town of Marion. It is as all-American as you can get, quiet and unassuming yet full of activity. Marion is a great place to live, work and play.
Rich in History
Established around 1810, Marion was originally call Independence. When a post office was put into operation around 1833 the name of the town was changed to Marion, named after the revolutionary war General Francis Marion also known as the Swamp Fox. The streets were laid out and named in 1876. During the early 1900’s Marion was a regular stop for both the PA Railroad and the trolley. Marion has maintained a school since 1900, fire department since 1945 and an athletic association since 1947
